Don Peterson, Jr., DDS
Our pediatric dental specialist is Dr. Don Peterson. Dr. Don and kids are on a first-name basis with one another. Dr. Don is a father of four who enjoys being around kids and speaks their language. He’ll also use the latest numbing techniques to ensure his care is very gentle, including “sleepy juice” (shot) and “silly air” (nitrous oxide) for our anxious patients. Plus, after the visit, your child will get a prize for being such a good, brave patient.
“As a pediatric dentist who is also a father, I know how very important it is that a child feels good about visiting the dentist. I myself had very positive dental experiences as a child and teenager. I received quality care by friendly dentists who cared about me. They were very professional, but also fun to be around. So, unlike many kids, I never developed a fear of the dentist.”
It is my mission to provide the same type of care to my patients. I consider myself my young patients’ dental coach. I offer them the same type of advice I give my own kids and the same gentle care, as well. I want to help create a generation of nonphobic dental patients.”
“Simply put, Iowa Pediatric Dental Center is a fun, positive environment and it’s a great feeling when a child walks into my office and says, “This is the coolest dental office ever.” However, nothing gives me greater satisfaction than when a child leaves my office with a smile on their face.”
